31 Days of October: Day 13... A Change of Scenery

Greetings from Luray, Virginia!

Stewart and I decided to get away for a weekend so here we are at South Court Inn, relaxing in the Ruby Room after dinner (I'm writing this on Friday evening).  Everything worked together for us to travel on the weekend closest to my birthday so this is somewhat of a celebratory trip.  My sweet husband even sent ahead a birthday card which was resting nicely in the middle of the bed, propped up on the complimentary candies.  Our lovely hostess, Adelheid, thought that was the sweetest touch!  The card came in today's mail and she couldn't wait for her husband, Mike, to come in from mowing the lawn so that she could tell him all about it!

The leaves are just starting to change so the mountains only had a faint blush of color.  There were a few bold trees here and there that have already gone full on yellow, red or orange, but most of them were pretty timid about it.  I absolutely love this time of year!

I'm keeping this short and sweet so that hubby and I can spend some time together.  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

See part 1 of the rest of the trip here.
