Gathering in March

Ah, it's the end of the month and once again time to gather the moments via pictures.  I've had a ton of photo ops, now if only I had remembered to use my camera!  February and March brought a change of routine for me (all good stuff!) but since I adjust to change quite slowly (even the good stuff!), I'm just now finding a groove.  But the chaos upheaval meant that my camera was left behind.  Or left unused.

Much of March has been gray, cold, and snowy....

But we ate well...

And I saved seeds from the gorgeous Seminole Squash to grow my own for next year...

And amped up my nutrition with these berry/kale/beet/coconut smoothies...

And was gifted with a dozen beautiful eggs...

That were bright and luscious...

On yet another snowy day...

On which I made coconut-maple snow cream...

Then the new season asserts itself...

Only to be assaulted yet again...

Despite the snow, I know Spring is coming!

Sort of like life, yes?

  2. Oh my! You have documented the up and downs of March. Hope that things settle into a comfortable routine once again. That smoothie looks great. I must Google!

    1. I sort of made up my own recipe for the smoothie, Vee. Mixed frozen berries, full fat coconut milk, raw kale, raw beet, and a little water. The plastic rooster isn't necessary, but I highly recommend finding a sweet reminder of your grandchildren's last visit to make you smile while sipping!

  3. Yes!! We know the seasons will come in their time because He promised that they would. If it weren't for my confidence in God's Word, I'd be having my doubts this year!

You have captured the moments well. The gray, the snow, and the promise of spring. And you have made me hungry! That mushroom/green bean dish looks wonderful. And coconut/maple snow cream?!! Be still my heart.

Thank you for linking up again this month. And thank you for the kind and loving words you left at my blog. Your friendship is a gift to me, and I love you too!

    1. Amen to that, Cheryl. God promises, we trust! The coconut maple snow cream... ah it was so good. I wished that I could save it for one of our scorching summer days. I guess I'll just have to resort to the regular kind of ice cream. Bummer!

  4. Absolutely! Just because it doesn't FEEL like Spring, doesn't mean it isn't Spring. Just like life, we cannot see all the things God is doing behind the scenes.

  8. March has kind of been like that here, one day nice then snow or sleet and cold temps, the cycle repeated for the entire month of March. Spring looks like it might be here though, our trees are beginning to bud

  9. Your March was all about home comforts to beat the cold!
Wonderful food and I love that sweet little baskets the eggs are in!
Joanne I would love you to photograph the landscapes again in Spring once everything is green and the snow has gone - it looks so beautiful.
    Wishing you a happy April!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Shane! I made that basket about 10 or so years ago at a homeschool activity day. It is a sturdy little thing, for sure! I look forward to seeing your April as well.

  11. I throughly enjoyed your Gathering Moments, and that smoothie looks so delicious. I so related to the back and forth winter, but things are looking up around our place as we are in the 80's this week, fingers crossed that it stays. ~smile~
