June Photo Challenge, Days 8 through 14

Today I am sharing 7 pictures as my next installment for Kati's June Photo Challenge.   You can find the links to other participants' pictures HERE.  There are some really creative and talented people out there in the blogging world!

If you missed them, you can find my pictures from DAYS 1 through 7 HERE.  It is a fun challenge and there is still time to join in if you want to.

Day 8... childhood
A storybook I remember from my own childhood.

Day 9... macro
I didn't even know what macro was until Kati explained it to me and now I've been taking macro pictures almost daily because I find them so interesting.  This is a wild strawberry that grows in my flower bed.

Day 10... upside down
I stack my small coffee cups upside down because I don't want the inside of the top cup to get dusty.

Day 11... jewelry
I don't have much jewelry.  This is my class ring from high school.  Yes, it fits comfortably.  I wish I could say the same thing about the jeans I wore in high school.

Day 12... flower
A tiny, edible hollyhock atop a boiled egg.  Another macro shot :)

Day 13... shadow
Geometric patterns from our patio furniture.

Day 14... red, white, and blue
This is the pattern on the top I was wearing this morning.

  2. This time last week you didn't even know what a macro was...and now you're ROCKING them!! I love the strawberry photo! I also like the stack of colorful (and upside down ;) ) mugs. But the photo that made me gasp was the first one, the image of the childhood book.

I gasped because my mom always talked about Parson Pease Porridge and her love for these books that her grandmother read to her when she was a very small girl. One year we decided to try to find one to give her for her birthday.Of course, even though we didn't know any titles or even the author's name, modern technology made it a fairly easy search and we were able to locate and purchase a couple of them. Mom was surprised...and thrilled!

Fabulous job with the challenge this week!

    1. What a wonderful gift for your Mom, Cheryl. I'm so glad I went with that book instead of the other one I had first thought of for that picture just so I could hear that story!

Thanks so much. Macro fascinates me! I can see things in the pictures that I can't see with my (aging) eyes.

  3. I love the close-up of your egg! I eat a hard-boiled egg every morning with my breakfast and I never get tired of them!

    1. I eat a lot of eggs, too, Kristin. I just recently discovered that steaming them makes them MUCH easier to peel even if they are very fresh.

  4. The macro of the strawberry is so cool! One sees so many things! (I learned that a stone was missing from the necklace I featured.) Yup. Lots of mysteries can be solved.
