Sweater to Hat and Fingerless Gloves (a birthday gift for Amelia)
I'm not going to write a step-by-step tutorial for this project because the pictures are fairly self-explanatory. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comment section. It was all hand sewn. The fabric yo-yos were made from scraps left from a costume that I made for my daughter for a school play. Total cost... $1.00 for the thrift store sweater.
I planned to post a different project but the pictures didn't turn out. Bummer. Maybe next month.
GRAB MY BUTTON, PLEASE...

Darling!! You are quite the makeover queen!!
ReplyDeleteI think it is genetic. My mom could make just about anything from a butter tub, cardboard box, and duct tape.
DeleteOh...and you have a very pretty model too!
ReplyDeleteThank you! We had a ton of laughs trying to get a staged picture to look candid :-) We are terrible goofballs when we are together.
DeleteI nearly missed seeing this! That is so cute!!! And, so is Amanda!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Aunt Betty! Amelia has a slightly-larger-than-average noggin so all the hats she buys are snug. She says this one fits perfectly and doesn't smash her hair.
DeleteLove it! I need to make myself a hat like that. :-)
ReplyDeleteDo it! It is quick and simple, and you can make it to custom-fit your head.
DeleteI love them both. I bet my older girls would love to make some!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great way for them to practice their measuring and hand-sewing skills.
DeleteSo cute! Now I'd make a set if I thought the girl would use them.
ReplyDeleteIt is worth a try! Let me know how it goes.
